The TUMO Center for Creative Technologies (TUMO) is an afterschool educational program that puts teens in charge of their own learning. This free-of-charge program in Armenia is made up of self-learning activities, workshops and project labs that revolve around 14 learning targets: animation, game development, filmmaking, web development, music, writing, drawing, graphic design, 3D modeling, programming, robotics, motion graphics, photography, new media.
AGBU helped launch the initial TUMO center in Gyumri, Armenia and is the institutional partner for the TUMOxAGBU Center in Stepanakert, Artsakh which opened in 2015. Focused on transforming the educational landscape in Artsakh, our state-of-the-art center is designed to equip more than 1,500 bright and promising young Armenians every year with the skills and tools needed to take charge of their future and contribute to the long-term prosperity of the region.
In Armenia, schools teach important core subjects like mathematics, language and biology. TUMO complements that education, focusing on strategic 21st century skills.
In September 2021, AGBU joined TUMO in a major announcement: to extend its learning network nationwide to serve all youth in Armenia and Artsakh. This ambitious $50 million initiative will ensure that without having to move out of their hometowns, young Armenians will have access to education and careers ranging from coding and robotics to filmmaking and design. AGBU pledged to match $10 million of funds raised within the first year.
We give students the means to become globally competitive, self-confident, and gain the knowhow that makes them unstoppable.
